Following are the causes and effects of mental health disorders:

 Genetics: Disorders can be caused by genetic factors passed on from parents to offspring. Scientists have long recognized that many psychiatric disorders tend to run in families, suggesting potential genetic roots.

Such disorders include autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, major depression and schizophrenia.

Brain Chemistry: Imbalances in brain chemicals, serotonin and dopamine, can lead to disorders.

Trauma: Traumatic events such as physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, neglect, or domestic violence can lead to mental health disorders.

Environmental factors: Exposure to certain environmental factors such as poverty or homelessness, can increase the risk of mental health disorders.

Many people lose heart and sign on to suicide.

According to research, over 164 thousand deaths due to suicides were recorded in India in 2021. Moreover, majority of suicides were reported in the state of Maharashtra, along with Tamil Nadu.

Tips to avoid disorders and maintain Mental health:

 

Here are some tips to boost your mental health.

 

Get plenty of sleep: Not having proper sleep can have a major impact on your mental health. Aim for 8-9 hours of quality and peaceful sleep each night.

 

Exercise regularly: Exercise can help reduce stress and improve mood. Aim for 30 minutes of moderate and vigorous exercise, at least five days a week.

 

Eat a healthy diet: Eating a balanced, nutritious diet can help your body and mind stay healthy. Avoid processed or sugary foods and try to focus on fresh fruits and vegetables.

 

Connect with others: Social interactions can help to improve your mood and help you to stay connected to the people around you. Stay active.

 

Take time for yourself: Make sure to take breaks from daily routine and do something you enjoy. It might be reading a book, taking a walk, or listening to the music.

 

Practice relaxation: Relaxation techniques  such as deep breathing, yoga, and meditation can help you cope with stress.

Talk to someone: Talk to a friendly face. If you have concerns, stresses or worries, sharing these anxieties with someone who cares is one of the most effective ways to calm your nervous system and relieve stress.
